Rules

Just like in previous editions, this year’s tournament will once again feature a number of innovative game rules, in collaboration with the KNVB.

The modified game rules that will be applied are:

• Effective playing time
  Games consist of two 20-minute halves with the clock stopped when play is stopped.
• Yellow cards and time penalties
  Not every yellow card automatically results in a time penalty. For certain offenses, a player receives a yellow card, while other offenses are punished with a four-minute time penalty.
• Dribble-in
  When the ball crosses the sideline, it is not thrown in but dribbled in.
• Selfpass
  In free kicks, goal kicks and corner kicks, the taker is allowed to touch the ball again immediately before another player has touched it.
• Flying substitutions
  Teams are allowed unlimited substitutions. Substitutions can take place during the match, with one player being substituted at a time and a minimum of ten seconds between substitutions.
