AS Monaco have reached the semi-finals of the Otten Innovation Cup. After a win against Club Brugge, a draw against Chelsea and a defeat to Benfica, the Monegasques finished second in their group. After the group stage, we spoke to Luka Dragasevic, one of Monaco’s attackers.
Dragasevic is pleased with his team’s performances so far: “It’s my first time here at this tournament. Monaco also took part last year, but I wasn’t here yet. I think things have gone well so far. Yesterday, we won one game and drew another, so that was a good start.”
The second day started less well for Monaco with a defeat to Benfica: “We made a few too many mistakes and weren’t efficient enough in front of goal. Unfortunately, that’s why we lost.”
However, he remains confident in his team: “We have a physically strong team with a lot of talent and good players. In the semi-final against Palmeiras, we’re going to give it everything again. We’re here to win and we’re going to give it our best. The only goal we set ourselves for this tournament is to win.”
At 4:30 PM, we will find out whether Monaco will reach the final. They will face Palmeiras on pitch 1, who finished top of Group A. At the same time, PSV and Chelsea will face each other in the other semi-final. The winners will compete for the title tomorrow, while the losers will battle for third place.
