Club Brugge tried to pull one back, but clear chances failed to materialise in the first half. Early in the second half, Adelaide United FC were reduced to ten men, which prompted Club Brugge to push forward even more. Soon after, they pulled a goal back. Adelaide United FC dropped deeper and deeper to defend their lead. After the second drinks break, Club Brugge quickly found the equaliser. In the end, Club Brugge found the net once more to take the win and 7th place in the tournament.
