Sterk Chelsea verslaat Benfica ondanks ondertal

Al vroeg in de wedstrijd kreeg Chelsea een dubbele tegenslag te verwerken. Na 22 seconden kreeg keeper Freddy Bernal rood en de opvolgende vrije trap werd tot doelpunt gepromoveerd.

Toch was er weinig te merken van het Portugese overtal. Chelsea speelde sterk, volwassen en nam zelfs een voorsprong. Rust kwam met een 2-2 stand. Na rust werd er tot 2 maal toe een Portugese speler voor 4 minuten naar de kant gestuurd en hier maakte Chelsea dankbaar gebruik van. Aan het einde stond er een verdiende 3-2 overwinning voor de Engelsen op het scorebord.

Early on in the match Chelsea goalie Freddy Bernal got a red card and Benfica immediately took advantage. Despite being down a man Chelsea had the upper hand. At half time, they even managed to get a draw on the scoreboard 2-2.

After the break 2 Portugese players were send to the sin bin and Chelsea took advantage. In the end they even took a deserved 3-2 victory.
